Character Information
Name: Omi Fushimi
Canon: A3!
Canon Point: After the end of "The Stranger"
Age: 20
History: SUPER BASIC WIKI ARTICLE. Basically what you need to know is:
- When he was younger, Omi was a co-leader of a biker gang
- His best friend and co-leader, Nachi, died in an incident with an opposing group
- Omi took revenge on the people who caused Nachi's death
- He then quit being a gang member and started being normal mom friend, going to class, and went to college
- A classmate in college tapped him to photograph for Mankai Company promotions
- Omi was invited to audition for the new Autumn Troupe and was accepted
- Autumn Troupe staged their first show, "The Roman Episode/Le Roman Picaresque"
-- During the course of which Omi is basically around to break up fights between fellow actors Juza and Banri
-- And to support his roommate, Taichi, who turns out to be a spy for another company
-- There are many "mysterious mishaps" with this play, all of which come down to Taichi's sabotage
-- Omi finds out about Taichi's role and motives, and encourages him to confess his crimes to his troupe members
-- Also, Omi takes up the role of caretaker for pretty much everyone in the Mankai dorms
-- A lot of this story happens around Omi, with him being rather neutral often
-- Which sets up the Autumn Troupe second play...
- He is taken from after their second play, during which the people closest to him found out about his past through him being given the lead role
-- He's given the lead role because if you say no to Sakyo you get in trouble and that's bad
-- The role he plays in it is of a powerful loner on a motorcycle who doesn't care for the world at all
-- He and Taichi become even closer friends during this, as Taichi helps him figure out how to portray the character authentically
-- Omi also patches things up with a former gang member and gets the expressed blessing of Nachi's parents to continue on as an actor

Personality:

The first thing one might know about Omi would undoubtedly come in the form of glowing compliments from his fellow Mankai Company members. He wakes up early to make everyone breakfast, tries to serve up interesting dinners, and generally takes care of everyone around him in a typical big-brother-like fashion. There's conscientiousness shown for each and every person in Mankai Company, not just his own troupe, as he remembers favorite meals and dishes and prepares them at just the right times. He grew up in a house full of guys, so he learned skills for this early on, from housekeeping to handicrafts to being a devoted sibling. The fact that he never really loses that, despite what happens in his gang years, is testament to the true gentleness of his soul.

In part because of this gentleness, Omi took on his best friend's life's dream. If Nachi couldn't live his dreams, Omi would live them in his stead; that's how he sees it, and professes such in his portrait performance. Over the course of the first two Autumn Troupe plays, Omi comes to regard the dream as his own, too, and to treasure the friends he's made because of acting. Autumn Troupe may seem like the ultimate disasters, all being delinquents or otherwise outliers, but they come together like brothers to tackle their sabotaged first performance. There's a underlying gentleness in all of them, a feeling that there's a gap between how the world perceives them, and the person they really are. They support each other like comrades at arms.

Having spent years feeling dead inside from the loss of his friend and the future he never got to have, Omi takes on the stage with a gravity some others don't. During the rehearsals for Stranger, Omi can't seem to get into playing a character who reminds him so much of his former ways. Fellow troupe members reach out to him, reminding him that he's valued and that he should look forward, instead of back. He accepts this with gratitude and humility, and even apologizes for begging a selfish request to change the protagonist's name to his former moniker, Wolf, to help him heal and deliver the best performance.

The thing is that no one but Omi sees Omi as selfish or as anything but an upright and helpful person. He doubts himself, even in successes, and he struggles to get past survivor's guilt for not dying in the incident that took Nachi's life. His entire initial drive to become an actor came out of guilt arising from meeting Nachi's parents at his grave. Even before that, he was passionate about photography, a skill that reminded him of a specific incident from his biker gang days. It's like a chain he wrapped around his own ankle, the tie of nostalgia mixing with a desire to do well for others. He's overly concerned with whether or not he's inconveniencing people, though not to the point of excessive apology. He doesn't feel he deserves much recognition as an actor, and will defer to others on the topic of acting. He carries guilt for blindly abandoning his gang after Nachi's death, too, which leads to a difficult run-in with a former friend. All in all, Omi tortures himself far more effectively than anyone else probably could, but the story of A3! is about blooming--growth--and story by story he grows into a more complete person, separate from his past regrets.

While he may seem level-headed and calm most of the time, you definitely don't want to make Omi mad. He can still act the part of a biker gang member if needed, and he won't hesitate to step in and defend anyone in Mankai Company. While that life may be in the past, he still knows how to throw down. He's also occasionally a bit of an airhead, missing obvious cues at times or getting carried away with little things like crafts or elaborate cooking. Once he has an idea for something like that, there's nothing but success to come of it. He's a man who can do anything he sets his mind to, given enough effort. He has a masterful poker face and isn't afraid to crack little jokes at his friends' gentle expense. He seems especially fond of teasing the director of Mankai Company (the player character!).

Omi takes on the weight of the world, but it's now not without proper care and respect for his past. He cooks with enthusiasm, wakes people with a smile, performs with his entire being, and does his best to deliver on the dream he's made his own.

Abilities & Skills: Nothing supernatural or anything, but he's an actor, a talented photographer, a grade-a cook, and he's used to physical/action scenes in plays and plays soccer, so he's quite athletic! He can ride a motorcycle and is rather physically strong, thanks to his old days as a biker gang member... and imitator of pro wrestling moves.

Inventory/Companions: Digital camera, his normal clothes

Choice: Monster; Turnskin
Reason: I chose a (wolf) Turnskin for Omi, primarily because he always has a pack supporting mentality, but makes a lot of individual decisions without really consulting others. He tries to go it alone when he doesn't need to, but he's the first to lend a helping hand.
